About Us

Hi There! Our staff truly defines who we are as a practice, and we think we’ve got an amazing team. We look forward to introducing ourselves in person, but for now, thank you for taking a moment to get to know us electronically!

Melissa (Nephew) Meiste, MSPT2014-1.02.28 Melissa (2) (Owner and Physical Therapist) Melissa is the brains behind the outfit. She is the go-getter who keeps wheels turning, the entrepreneur who loves to create, and the visionary who dreams big things for the future. She is also a practitioner who knows her stuff and takes great care in her role as a PT. Melissa genuinely enjoys getting to know you. She’ll get to the bottom of your pain, and while she’s at it, you’ll find yourself telling her your life story. We like to think of her as our extrovert extraordinaire.

Melissa has practiced PT since 1999, opening up Nephew’s doors in 2006. She married her husband, Mitch, in 2009, and together they have two active and adorable boys, Cooper and Grady. Outside of work, Melissa extends her creativity to her church, social life, and home. She’s an avid scrapbooker, softball player, and Entreleader (daveramsey.com), who won’t ever tire of helping others to strengthen marriages and achieve financial freedom. If Melissa could take a vacation tomorrow, she’d be on her way to a tropical island to enjoy the sun, sights and fabulous photo opportunities.

Joan Kroeze, MPT 2014.02.28 Joan (2)(Physical Therapist) Looking for a physical therapist who is also a globe-trotter, tennis star, volleyball coach, missions volunteer, amazing wife and awesome mom? You’ve come to the right place! Joan brings eighteen years of expertise to our team, but beyond that, she’s an adventurer with a catching passion for people and the world.

Joan can help the dizziest patient find balance, and she genuinely loves to get people back to what they do best. She brings a unique skill set to our team as she blends knowledge from PT experience in multiple settings. We so appreciate her for her introspective and patient way of approaching things in the daily. Joan’s commitment to wellness, staying active, and trying new things is an encouragement to everyone she meets.

Summer Zappia, MSPT 2014-1.02.28 Summer (1)(Physical Therapist) We’re a team of movers and doers, and Summer is no exception. A busy wife and mom to three beautiful girls, Summer handles our Ottawa County Mental Health contract and travels to care for patients throughout West Michigan. She is personable, thoughtful, and highly dedicated–traits we so admire and find meaningful as a staff.

If Summer could go anywhere or do anything, she’d be with her family on an adventure to somewhere new. She is wonderfully committed to her faith and to serving others well, loves her family deeply and prioritizes God and family above all else. Summer encourages others to be true to themselves and real with those around them. It is a privilege to work alongside her.

Courtnee Cutler, PTA If you’ve spent any time around the Nephew PT crew, you know we’re a passionate bunch, which is just one of the reasons why Courtnee is a perfect fit for our team. Her positive outlook and dedication to health will set you on the path to wellness from the start. An avid hiker, adventurer and traveler, Courtnee’s approach to patient care is personable and thorough. She’s sharp and fun to talk with, so bring your best stories along to share. You will love getting to know her as she guides you through your course of treatment!

Courtnee has a great big heart—for her family, for children, and for helping patients to heal well through PT. Her desire to make a difference in the world shines through in her love for others and her commitment to God. Courtnee will light up the room when she enters it, and we’re so grateful that she cares for our patient family in such an enthusiastic and compassionate way.
